In 2021, Blue Ocean ATS became the first regulated venue to open US equities to the overnight hours, creating a market where none existed and giving investors around the world access to US stocks during their own business day. Today, the Blue Ocean Session runs 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM ET, Sunday through Thursday, serving broker-dealer subscribers and their clients across more than 30 countries.
But the trading week still stops on Friday evening. For 48 hours, the world's most important equity market goes dark, while news, earnings, and global events do not. We intend to change that.

Traditional clearing and settlement infrastructure does not operate on weekends, and that, more than technology, is what has kept the US market closed on Saturday and Sunday. Tokenization changes the equation.
Blue Ocean is building toward weekend trading of tokenized NMS equities: true securities, fully fungible with the traditional share and carrying the same CUSIP, not synthetic wrappers or offshore derivatives. Tokenized settlement allows trades to clear when legacy systems are offline, while preserving the full US regulatory protections investors expect.
