Bill Goodbody is the Head of Market Operations at Blue Ocean Technologies, LLC. Based in Melbourne, Bill leads the firm’s operational strategy and market expansion initiatives across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, strengthening Blue Ocean’s global footprint and supporting the growth of its institutional trading ecosystem.

With over 30 years of experience in global markets and technology, Bill has a proven track record of architecting and scaling high-performance institutional platforms across equities, foreign exchange, and digital assets. Most recently, he served as Head of Business Operations at Zerocap, where he led initiatives across the business including the transformation of its trading technology and preparing the organization for 24/7 institutional operations. Prior to that, he was the Chief Operating Officer at AE Capital, where he focused on the scaling and enhancement of trading and business operations for the multi-asset systematic hedge fund while helping secure key strategic partnerships.

Bill previously served as Senior Vice President and Head of Foreign Exchange at Bats Global Markets (now Cboe), where he led the global product and sales strategy for Hotspot FX, culminating in its successful acquisition. His career also includes senior leadership roles at KCG Holdings, Knight Capital Group, and Jefferies & Company.

A respected expert in market structure, Bill was a founding member and former Secretary of the Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA). He has served as a director on the boards of NSX Holdings and the National Stock Exchange and has been an active member of numerous industry bodies, including SIFMA’s Equity Markets & Trading Committee and the Security Traders Association (STA).

Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University, majoring in Government and minoring in Economics.
